Quick Links & News
Mr W was been given leave to appeal against his conviction for historic sexual offences for which he received a 6 year sentance in March 2005 before Machester Crown Court .
The appellant has served his sentence but has always maintianed his innocence and will now have an opportunity to persaude the Court of Appeal that his conviction is unsafe .
The appeal will be on grounds of an inadequate good character direction , the failure to give a clear direction of seperate consideration and an argument that no lucas direction should have been given . Other grounds may also be renewed before the full court .
A fuller report will follow once the case has been heard by the Court of Appeal .
